Information for Sunday March 15: Traffic-Parade event


On Sunday, March 15, Bergenfield will host the Bergen County St. Patrick's Day Parade.The following information is posted regarding the event concerning traffic diversions, road closures and other parade information.

The parade begins at 2:00 PM on South Washington Avenue by East Englewood Avenue. The marchers will move north on South Washington Avenue and will end at Bradley Avenue and North Washington Avenue. The reviewing stand will be located in front of St. John the Evangelist RC Church, 29 N Washington Avenue.

The staging area for all participants in the parade will be in the areas of South Washington and East Englewood Avenue, West Englewood Avenue, Sylvan Avenue, North Street, and Warren Street. Drop-off should be early before the street closure. If dropping off after closures, you must utilize the side roads off Murray Hill Terrace to access either East Englewood or Sylvan Avenues to be able to drop at South Washington Avenue. You may also drop off on New Bridge Road near Warren Street or Foster Street to access that same area.

The major intersections of New Bridge Rd and South Washington Avenue, Clinton Avenue / S Washington Avenue, Main Street / Washington Avenue, Church St / N Washington Avenue will all be closed to through traffic at 1:30 PM.

All side roads along North and South Washington Avenue will be closed and barricaded by 1:00 PM.

EMERGENCY-NO PARKING signs will be posted on numerous side streets and main roadways. Observe all posted signs.

Public drinking of alcoholic beverages is strictly prohibited under Borough Ordinance Chap 87.

Please enjoy the day and celebrate the St. Patrick's Day Parade, as well as Irish heritage, proudly and safely. Don't Drink and Drive. Remember to have a Designated Driver.
