Detailed Forecast

  • Late AfternoonPeriods of snow. High near 31. Wind chill values between 20 and 25. South wind around 11 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. Total daytime snow accumulation of around an inch possible.
  • TonightSnow with areas of blowing snow before 5am, then snow likely after 5am. Low around 15. Wind chill values between zero and 10. Windy, with a south wind 8 to 13 mph becoming northwest 20 to 30 mph in the evening. Winds could gust as high as 46 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New snow accumulation of 2 to 4 inches possible.
  • SundaySnow likely with areas of blowing snow before 11am, then a slight chance of snow between 11am and noon, then areas of blowing snow after noon. Cloudy, then gradually becoming mostly sunny and cold, with a temperature falling to around 10 by 5pm. Wind chill values between -5 and -10. Windy, with a northwest wind 22 to 32 mph, with gusts as high as 55 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New snow accumulation of less than one inch possible.
  • Sunday NightAreas of blowing snow before midnight. Mostly clear, with a low around -1. Wind chill values between -10 and -15. Blustery, with a northwest wind 16 to 22 mph, with gusts as high as 36 mph.
Based on the NWS Weather Advisory, No Overnight Parking (Ord. 299-10) permission will be granted in the Borough of Bergenfield for the hours of 2 AM -5 AM Sunday February 15, 2015. If conditions deteriorate, the area is subject to a snow emergency being declared. The storm will be monitored, patrols will report on road conditions and stay in contact with Department of Public Works personnel.
Winds are major part of this storm. Strong winds later tonight are forecast to produce gusts up to 43 mph. Bergenfield Police reminds residents to call the PSE&G number to report outages, however, if you observe a transformer fire, any type wire down, or a tree/tree limb down that is a hazard, dial 911 to call in the emergency to police communications. Any other non-emergency should be dialed to 201-387-4000.
**Any vehicle that is left parked and in any way blocks the safe passage of other vehicles on any Borough street is subject to towing/removal and will be cited for a Title 39 violation under NJ Traffic Laws.
39:4-67. Obstructing passage of other vehicles or street cars prohibited; clearance of intersections
No vehicle or street car shall be permitted by the owner or driver thereof to so occupy a street as to interfere with or interrupt the passage of other street cars or vehicles, nor shall the driver of a vehicle or street car drive such vehicle or street car into an intersection if preceding traffic prevents immediate clearance of the intersection.
