DWI Arrest Monday, June 2, 2014
On Monday, June 2, 2014 PO Ahmed Alagha was on patrol and observed a vehicle driving erratically. PO Alagha conducted a motor vehicle stop in the area of S. Washington Ave and O'Neil Street.
PO Alagha approached the vehicle and began to speak with the driver identified as Oanh Duong age 41 of Jersey City, NJ. PO Alagha detected a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage emanating from the driver's mouth and observed the driver's eyes to be bloodshot and watery.
PO Alagha requested that Mr. Duong exit his vehicle for field sobriety testing and Mr. Duong complied. Based on the results of the field sobriety tests and PO Alagha's observations Mr. Duong was placed under arrest for Driving While Intoxicated.
Mr. Duong was transported to police headquarters and processed. Mr. Duong was issued summonses for 39:4-50, driving while intoxicated, 39:4-88b, failure to maintain lane and 39:3-4, expired registration.
Mr. Duong was released to a friend and given a July 9, 2014 court date for Bergenfield Municipal Court.
