Press Release-Arrest


On Tuesday, May 26, 2015 at 2:23p p.m. officers from the Bergenfield Police Department responded to a residence on Carlisle Street for the report of an assault which had just occurred.

Officers arrived on scene and spoke with the victim who had visible signs of injury and stated she was assaulted by a known female who forcibly entered her home.  Officers requested the Bergenfield Volunteer Ambulance Corp to the scene.  The victim refused aid at the scene.

Officers spoke with the accused identified as Tatyana Escobar age 19 of Bergenfield, NJ.  Escobar gave officers the same account of the incident and was placed under arrest.  Escobar was transported to headquarters without incident and processed.

Municipal Court Judge Helene Herbert was contacted and issued a warrant for burglary, 2C:18-2 with bail set at $35,000 no 10% allowed.  Escobar was also charged with simple assault 2C:12-1a. 

Escobar was unable to post bail and was transported to Bergen County Jail.

Mv Crash Involving a Police Motorcycle


On Monday, May 25, 2015 at 12:50 p.m., a motorcycle unit from the Bergenfield Police Department was involved in a motor vehicle crash while preparing for the annual Memorial Day Parade.
 
The crash is still under investigation.

The officer was transported to a local area hospital for a complaint of pain by the Bergenfield Volunteer Ambulance Corp.  The driver of the second vehicle refused aid at the scene.

The officer received medical aid at Holy Name Hospital and was released with minor injuries.

Auxiliary Police Promotions

On Tuesday, May 19, 2015, two Auxiliary Police Officers were promoted to the rank of Auxiliary Sergeant.  We would like to congratulate Myrna Guzman and Jacques Senise. Both officers have volunteered their time for the residents of the Borough of Bergenfield since 2000.  Both have devoted the last 15 years to providing service and security to the residents of Bergenfield, leaving their families and warm beds behind.  Sgt. Guzman and Sgt. Senise both received a Unit Citation in 2012 for all of the hours they volunteered during Super Storm Sandy.

We would like to extend a thank you to all of the members of the Bergenfield Auxiliary Police Unit, who as a group donate more than 2000 hours annually.  Sgt. Guzman and Sgt. Senise were surrounded by members of their family, members of the Auxiliary Police Department and sworn officers of the Bergenfield Police Department during the ceremony.

Bergenfield Police Auxiliary Unit


 

The Bergenfield Auxiliary Police Unit is seeking new volunteers to assist the police department and serve the community. If you are interested in joining, contact us and we will explain the training process that will be required. There is no cost to you to take the training and all equipment and uniforms will be provided.

You must complete a background check before an official swear-in as an auxiliary police officer. In addition, the minimum requirements are:

-18 years of age or older
-Possess a valid NJ driver's license
-Have no criminal history
-Reside in Bergenfield or within 5 miles of the border of Bergenfield if the municipality you reside in does not have an Auxiliary Police Program
-Volunteer 8 hours a month - 96 hours per year
-Attend mandatory training on the last Monday of each month at 7 pm

Applications are located at the Police Communication Desk 24 hours a day 7 days a week.

Bergenfield Press Release-Arrest


On Saturday, April 25, 2015, the Bergenfield Police Department responded to 24 North Washington Ave, La Placita Bakery on the report of a theft of a tip jar containing approximately $180.00.  At the time of the incident, the accused left the scene prior to police arrival.  The case was turned over the Detective Bureau for further investigation.

 
On Thursday, May 7, 2015 Detective Kevin Doheny completed his investigation resulting in the arrest of Danielle Reveron, age 22 of Fairview, NJ.  Reveron was served with a complaint summons for 2C:20-3a, theft of moveable property, and given a future court date to appear in Bergenfield Municipal Court.
